The Colloid Mill is ideal for homogenizing, emulsifying, dispersing, mixing, and comminuting liquids to highly viscous products. It operates on the rotor-stator principle and comes in both plain and water-jacketed models, making it suitable for heat-sensitive products. Flameproof electricals are available upon request at an additional cost.

Operation:

The product is fed into the rotor’s operating area, spinning at 3000 rpm, via a specially designed feed device. It undergoes processing through high shear, pressure, and friction between the stator and rotor, combined with intense vibration that applies force through pressing and releasing actions. Due to the slight tapering of the stator and rotor’s milling surfaces, the angular gap narrows toward the discharge section. The processed product exits the mill continuously through the drainpipe and can be recirculated if necessary.

All contact parts are made from S.S. 316 quality material, with no castings used to prevent
A coupling is provided between the motor shaft and rotor shaft for easy maintenance.
Three oil seals are placed between the motor and the processing chamber to prevent liquid from entering the motor winding, avoiding motor burnout.
The semi-concave teeth in the rotor and stator are designed to reduce motor HP while improving size reduction performance without damaging the product.

The extended bearing housing is specially designed for precise adjustment of bearing clearances or backlash to prevent metal-to-metal contact between the rotor and stator. This unique design ensures smooth and consistent performance, along with prolonged rotor and stator life.

A leak-proof neoprene sealing device is included.

A three-way cock system is provided as standard for draining and recirculating liquids, with an additional discharge spout included for viscous products.
A DOL starter with an overload relay is provided for protection against single phasing and low voltage.
Contact parts can be easily dismantled for cleaning.
The design allows for grinding gap adjustments using an external screw handle, even during operation.
A flameproof motor and flameproof rotary switch can be provided upon request at an additional cost.
